Series Update and NOLA Preview!

The season is underway and our next event is just around the corner. In this episode we dug in on the latest happenings of the show and have a NOLA preview as well. Enjoy!

-Rob & Jimi

Series News:

-Ron Sutton News will be doing seminars at Holley LS Fest West and on Friday and Saturday (May 5-6)

-The FM3 RoadTrip Cars-&-Cones begins next week immediately following NOLA. Several people are doing both.

-New Welcome Party Sponsor – Fire Ade – portable fire extinguishers and other “aerosol can” type options. www.fireade.com

-Points Event Update: More people are now getting a USCA invite that did not win an event. Why? Because we have more classes now (GTC specifically). 17 invites may be coming this year, which is a future discussion with OPTIMA Jim.

-Clarification coming for spoiler rules on Hatchbacks!

-Clarification coming for new cars with autonomous safety systems: Automatic braking, Lane change avoidance, etc.

Overall Event Segment Leaders:

-2nd Year at NOLA

-Speed Stop different this year (was on track last year) – will be held at autocross location. As a reminder:
Friday tech from 12-6PM.
Be at the track no later than 7PM.
Saturday morning tech begins at 7AM for those that didn’t get in Friday.
Don’t ask to leave your trailer at the track PRIOR to Friday.

-At NOLA this year is something new and fun – Cars and Coffee on Saturday morning! 7AM to 9AM ish….

-Saturday evening – local seafood company is catering dinner. Great NOLA style dinner.

-Sunday – Speed Stop and Road Course running simultaneously.

-70 cars coming – there are technically 5 open spots even though it’s already sold out!

-Several cars coming that are recent builds – and this is their first event. Jimi is looking forward to seeing Eric Vandermey’s Miata “Minimal Upgrades”
