MAVTV Premiers New Reality Driving Series
USCA fans were given the opportunity to relive the excitement of OPTIMA’s Search for the Ultimate Street Car 2014 season when MAVTV debuted its newest series last Friday, August 1st. Fans followed along as the OPTIMA Search for the Ultimate Street Car visited some of the most legendary racetracks in the U.S. in search of the nation’s best performance street cars and watched as the drivers competed in an action packed pentathlon of driving challenges that put their cars and driving skills through the ultimate test.
“OPTIMA’s Search for the Ultimate Street Car” pits drivers of street-legal performance cars against one another as they battle for an invitation to the OPTIMA Ultimate Street Car Invitational held at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway following the 2014 SEMA Show. To earn a spot in the “Big Show,” drivers must compete in the Detroit Speed and Engineering Road Rally, the Ridetech Autocross and the Wilwood Disc Brakes Speed Stop Challenge, have their vehicles’ judged in the Lingenfelter Performance Engineering Design and Engineering competition and finally try to set the fastest lap in their class during the BFG Road Course Challenge. Adding to the excitement of the series are the track locations themselves, with drivers proving their mettle while following in the footsteps of racing legends as they tackle Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca’s famous “corkscrew” or navigate the famous Rolex24 course at Daytona at night and under the lights.
The TV series kicked off Friday, August 1st with an introductory episode that introduced viewers to the event concept, philosophies, and sponsors. The show also introduced viewers to tracks, drivers, and their vehicles, and gave viewers a behind the scenes look at what it’s like to compete in these events as drivers push themselves and their cars to the limit. Tune in for the next episode on August 8th at 8PM as the USCA relives the excitement form Laguna Seca. Watch drivers deal with triumph, disappointment, mechanical failures as well as physical and emotional stress, as they prepare to leave it all on the track in an effort to secure a spot in the OPTIMA Ultimate Street Car Invitational. OPTIMA’s Search for the Ultimate Street Car will continue to air on MAV TV through the month of August highlighting the most memorable parts of the 2014 season.
