Feature Interview – Thomas Smith
2005 Subaru WRX STI
We were lucky enough to bring Thomas Smith on for another of our in depth “car and driver” feature interviews. Impressively, Thomas ran his first OSUSC event in Vegas a couple of weeks ago in his 2005 Subaru WRX STI and won his class! That’s certainly no small feat so we decided to bring him on for another in depth “car and driver” feature interview to figure out how he did it!
Thomas shared his racing experience to date which is fairly significant. By trade he is a mechanic, yet despite that his 120,000 mile Subaru is really mostly stock! He credits a lot of the success he had in Las Vegas to being prepared and aggressive.
One interesting point Thomas made was that he had watched the OSUSC event coverage on MAV-TV, which gave him a great overview of the what-who-how-where of things…but really didn’t prepare him for the expertise and heated competition he saw in person (which he liked)!
You can contact Thomas as well as follow his adventures via his Facebook page. Thanks for the great interview, Thomas!
