Welcome to the Optima Search For the Ultimate Street Car Series Podcast! This show is produced twice-per-month show and will be a great way to keep people informed on everything going on, from rules discussions, to event coverage, and to feature interviews with competitors and people of interest!

Forgeline’s Dave Schardt Talks the Inside Scoop on Wheel Performance and Design!

 

Happy Groundhog Day, 2016!

As we gear up for the start of the OSUSC season (which is just a few short weeks away) we thought it would be a great time to have Dave Schardt on from Forgeline to talk wheel tech, plus give a little history on Forgeline itself. Forgeline has been a mainstay in the sports car racing world for years, and is a common find among many OSUSC competitors (as well as both Jimi and I).

During our discussion we learned that Dave and and his brother Steve grew up in the wheel industry, starting at their fathers wire-wheel company. We also learned how Forgline journeyed from a pure racing wheel company that now makes passenger car wheels as well, not vice versa. If you’re interested in learning about wheel load ratings (and how they translate with recently developed high-G tires), plus learn about optimal wheel sizes for performance applications, you’ll enjoy this episode very much!
