Welcome to the Optima Search For the Ultimate Street Car Series Podcast! This show is produced twice-per-month show and will be a great way to keep people informed on everything going on, from rules discussions, to event coverage, and to feature interviews with competitors and people of interest!

Everything You Need to Know to Kick off the 2017 Season!

Well, the 2017 season is now upon us. That means it’s time to get back to some serious driving…and some serious podcasting! We’re pleased to put out the first show of the season and in this episode put together the almost overwhelming amount of info that we wanted to share with everyone. For 2017 we have a few new classes, several wonderful returning sponsors, a few new sponsors, a new money paying contingency program, a new Design and Engineering format, new weekend tech schedules….and that’s just to get things rolling.

Rules Info:
-Minimum age has been lowered to 16 years old licensed drivers with parental waiver!
-Vehicles can no longer compete in more than one class per year
-Cars must have a front and rear tow hook or tow strap
-Safety:All cars have to run an AGM or maintenance free flooded battery (only exception is if it’s OEM)
-Safety: The Fire Drill All (once per year). Drivers have to prove they can exit their car (with full gear) in 12 seconds or less
-Safety: Helmet Certification (once per year)
-D&E scoring is changing for the better. look for a separate podcast with full information soon.
