OPTIMA Jim, sitting in his Mercury Cyclone at D&Z Customs, mentally preparing for his future discussion with a Design and Engineering judge regarding “unique things about his car.”

The Complete Low-Down on Changes for the 2017 Lingenfelter Performance Design & Engineering Section.

In this episode we had the chance to bring on a show favorite – OPTIMA Jim McIlvaine! Jim is the man behind the points system in the OPTIMA series and each year we like to ask him the questions most people want to know that would normally take a 45 minute phone call to explain. Through the magic of the Internet we’ve been able to duplicate that for you in a single podcast show!

This year the biggest points discussion changes are specific to the Design and Engineering section. For 2017, the “Equalizer” section has become a little more evolved to offer more lee-way in the Objective portion of D&E vs. past years. It’s also changed the way that Tech Inspection will be done as well. With that said, the section itself still carries the same weight as does any of the performance driving sections, meaning it could be the difference between winning and losing!

Listen in for the full scoop. Jim knows all!
