Welcome to the Optima Search For the Ultimate Street Car Series Podcast! This show is produced twice-per-month show and will be a great way to keep people informed on everything going on, from rules discussions, to event coverage, and to feature interviews with competitors and people of interest!

Behind the Wheel: Mike DuSold!

 

Since we’re between events we wanted to bring back our popular “Behind the Wheel” segment to do an in-depth interview with a driver of the OSUSC Series. Today’s guest is the ever popular Mike DuSold, owner of DuSold Designs. Mike is a husband, father, artist, business owner, and driver of (possibly) the world’s lowest ’67 Camaro!

Our goal in these interviews is to learn what makes people tick, figure out why they choose to play here, and see how it is they’re able to drive so fast! In Mike’s case he hasn’t been a life-long driver – and his methods of getting fast are pretty interesting. His favorite parts of OSUSC are the art, the competition, and perhaps most importantly the friends he’s made as a result of it! He was candid in discussing what it feels like to win, and also what it feels like to lose.

You’ll also learn that his Camaro is the first ground-up car he’s ever built, because the real first one was made in a backyard when he was 12…out of wood!
