Behind the Wheel – Bryan Johnson

Since we have a little time between events we wanted to bring back the popular “behind the wheel” feature interview segment that we’ve done in the past. The time our featured guest is Mr. Bryan Johnson, the mysterious hot shoe driver of the seemingly unassuming black 2013 ILE Camaro. For those that know Bryan, he may be a mild mannered suspension engineer for Honda by day….but once he’s behind the wheel in a competition it’s game on! He recently won the Franklin Road and Apparel GT Class at the NOLA event and is headed to OUSCI 2017!

As you’ll learn in the interview Bryan’s driving experience started years ago. He holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering and entered into the motorsports world via his college’s Formula SAE team. He also spent years driving some “factory” race cars for Honda in his spare time and has ran One Lap of America more than once.

When it comes to the OSUSC series, Bryan’s strategy for every segment is to be prepared and focused. He has especially changed his approach to the D&E segment and his strategy has really benefited him. Be sure to listen closely to this tips and tricks.

We think you’ll enjoy this interview with Bryan. We definitely enjoyed hosting him!

Thanks!
-Rob & Jimi
